Winner of EURO CUP 2008

Spain 's 1-0 victory over Germany in a fast and furious Euro 2008 final on Sunday ended their 44-year wait for a trophy. In the match Fernando Torres's exquisite first-half goal gave them a deserved 1-0 victory.
In 1964 Spain won their last EURO cup, on home soil.

Champions Trophy - 2008 in Pakistan

Pakistan will host the Champions Trophy ( regarded as the second biggest event after the World Cup) in September as per a senior spokesperson of ICC, with an assurance that there are no safety and security fears.

ICC acting chief executive Dave Richardson was speaking ahead of the launching ceremony of the biennial event which Pakistan hosts from September 11-28.

The eight playing countries are - Australia, India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, New Zealand, South Africa, England and the West Indies - will compete in the Champions Trophy.

Rafael Nadal wins French Open Title of 2008

It was a record breaking day for Spain’s Rafael Nadal at Rolland Garos, as the ‘King of Clay’ claimed his fourth consecutive French Open title by handing Roger Federer one of the heaviest defeats of his career.
He's the first man to win four straight French Open championships since six time champion Bjorn Borg did it in 1978-81.
